Asking for information from The Rent Service
As a Government agency one of our main aims is to be open about the information we hold. We therefore give as much information out as we can to people who request it. We also publish information about how we operate on our website: www.therentservice.gov.uk
If you request information from The Rent Service we will do our best to provide you with what you ask for and provide it quickly.
You can ask us for information that we hold about you personally or general information about our organisation. For example you might want to ask us for an explanation of a decision we have made about your rent for your Housing Benefit claim. This kind of information is “personal data” and is only available to the person it is about. Other kinds of information available would be general information about The Rent Service or how we work; this kind of information is available to anybody.
