The Rent Assessment Committee's role:
A landlord or tenant can object to a Rent Officer's decision by writing to them. This objection is to be received by The Rent Service, Rent Officer, within 28 days. Once received the Rent Officer will pass the request and background details to the local rent assessment committee who will look at the case again.
The Role of the the Rent Officer and the Rent Assessment Committee leaflet (.pdf) provides detailed information about this process.
