Electronic Interface System (EIS)
This information is available to Local Authorities only for the submission of Housing Benefit referrals.
About EIS
The Electronic Interface System enables The Rent Service to receive and process Housing Benefit referrals electronically dispensing with the need for fax machines and postal deliveries.
This modern IT system provides significant time, cost and efficiency savings and speeds up the delivery of housing benefit to the claimant.

Registration information for local authorities
The provider of your Housing Benefit software will be able to provide information on what to do to get EIS up and running within your Local Authority.
You will also need to register for a digital certificate, for security purposes.

- To download a digital certificate select register for a digital certificate.

- Test/DEV/Live URLs
- Local Authority codes (LA Code) are required for registration and can be obtained from TRS's IT Helpdesk
